50 Hoops Celebrates 10 Years with DFW HOMETOWN Tournament
Thanks in advance for helping us make contacts to get a few of your employees to participate in the 50 Hoops 10th anniversary HOMETOWN basketball games, scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2008
2008 marks our 10th year (see http://www.50hoops.org ), and we want to celebrate by involving DFW corporations, their employees and products, where applicable, in our 10 year salute to our national supporters.
Theme: 10 years, 10 companies as simple as 1-2-3
Activities: Fun, Basketball, HEALTH EDUCATION, free health screenings, GIFTS AND PRIZES, women’s shoot outs and more.

EMPLOYEE TEAMS: 50 HOOPS and partner RADIO-ONE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
We basically need the names of 1-2 guys (or gals) who like to play basketball, and our team organizer will call to help them set up a team. (NOTE: Employees from about 10 other DFW corporations will also have teams).
If you get us the name of one or two guys who are interested in basketball, Jay Edwards will give them a call to introduce himself and see if they can work together to generate 1-2 or more teams for the games from your company. Radio-ONE will be broadcasting LIVE onsite, bringing a team of their own.

EMPLOYEE BLOG: 50 Hoops Basketball Tournament Invites You To Celebrate!!
For basketball enthusiasts! 50 Hoops invites EMPLOYEES/TEAMS to join us in our 10th Anniversary “50 Hoops” National Prostate and Colon Cancer Awareness Basketball Tournament. Join 50 HOOPS and partner Radio-ONE (97.9 The Beat and 94.5 KSOUL) in 3-on-3 half court, Saturday, July 19, 2008, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the J.C. Phelps Community Recreation Center, 3030 Tips Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75216. Games start at 10:00 and are under an hour with all time-outs and half times. GIFTS AND PRIZES are awarded to winning teams and we give token gifts to our volunteers.
Who can play from your company? Employees OR family or friends of employee are welcome to sign up to play as a tem. Teams consist of 3-5 men (or women) in age group of 30 - 49 and 50 and over. For women, age 30+, they can register for the women's shoot-out. Cost: $50 per person or $150 per team of 3 - 5 men or women. If you register without a team, we'll put you with other guys/gals in your category to form a team. Wear your company or team t-shirts and support 50 Hoops, along with Radio-ONE and their teams by attending the games. Free health screenings.
